Comparison of CMT TWIN with other MIG/MAG processes
Jiskra, Milan ; Felix, Michal (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
The development of welding technology is constantly going forward mainly due to the reduction of production costs and the costs of additional straightening of weldments due to the welding distortion. Therefore, the leading producers of welding machine are coming with new methods and technologies. One of the innovations is also the tandem technology CMT Twin from the company Fronius. The experiment carried out in the diploma thesis confirmed that this is a very cost effective process. The CMT Twin is from the point of view of production costs of the weld cheaper variant and bring less heat into the material compared with conventional welding. Application equipment CMT Twin requires industrial robot, so the method is predestined for the series up to mass production. The CMT Twin finds application, for example in the automotive and shipbuilding industry.
New aspects of MIG/MAG welding
Minich, Marek ; Hála, Michal (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis discusses the welding method MIG/MAG and the methods based on it. These methods are CMT and CMT Advanced which are currently still being improved. In the work are described their principles, benefits, uses and devices that allow welding by those methods. The thesis deals with the issue of a joint of steel and aluminum which is no longer an obstacle in welding due to CMT. This is a huge benefit especially for the automotive and aerospace industries, for which the solid and fast connection between steel and aluminum is a very desired matter. Further, there are welds of thin sheets described and discussed and also a list of wide range of practical uses for these welding methods.
Aspect of reliability in compatibility evaluation of products
Šenkýř, Michal ; Kovář, Miroslav (referee) ; Koška, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with stating the aspects of reliability in product compatibility evaluation, namely with stating result uncertainty in product parameters testing and diagnosis which are imperative for introduction of the product to the market. The practical part of the thesis focuses on stating selected uncertainty in warm-water boilers testing, especially in gas fueled boilers with rated thermal input of max. 70 kW.
Application of plasma arc in technical practice
Bednář, Šimon ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Daněk, Ladislav (advisor)
The first part of the thesis is devoted to research of technology which use plasma arc, as cutting, thermal spraying, surface heat treating and welding, the great emphasis is putted on the technology of welding. Second part of it is devoted to assessment of welds/joints which are made by TIG method and by PLASMA. At the welds/joints is assessed the total amount of heat input and the course of hardness in the cross section. At the welds/joints that were made by PLASMA was determined percent of dilution.
Microstructure modifications of Al-Si-coated press-hardened steel 22MnB5 by laser welding
Šebestová, Hana ; Horník, Petr ; Mika, Filip ; Mikmeková, Šárka ; Ambrož, Ondřej ; Mrňa, Libor
Weld microstructure depends on the characteristics of welded materials and parameters of welding technology, especially on the heat input that determines the peak temperature and the cooling rate. When the coated sheets are welded, the effect of the chemical composition of the coating must be also considered even though its thickness is only a few tens of microns. During 22MnB5+AlSi laser welding experiments, the ferrite-stabilizing elements of coating modified the weld metal microstructure. Ferrite appeared in a quenched weld metal. The rapid cooling rate accompanying welding with a focused beam limited the homogenization of the weld metal which resulted in the formation of ferritic bands in the regions rich in Si and especially in Al. On the other hand, a high level of homogenization was reached when welding with the defocused beam. The ferritic islands uniformly distributed in the weld metal were formed at 0.4 wt% and 1.6 wt% of Si and Al, respectively. The doubled heat input reduced the Al content to 0.7 wt% insufficient for the ferrite formation at still relatively high cooling rates. Predicting the distribution of ferrite in the weld metal is challenging due to its dependence on various factors, such as cooling rate and the volume of dissolved coating, which may vary with any modifications made to the welding parameters.
